Not sure why this happened, but it did happen on 3 machines. Holding the details as an Exchange account. Then added the exchange connected account again, and this worked. Both with the same details and same settings, both of them as IMAP accounts, and not exchange accounts. We noticed that the Mail application that was updated and previously linked with an Exchange connection to our Exchange server 2010 ended up with two accounts. This time the updated worked, along with an iTunes update. Then went to the “Software Update” and asked it to check for updates. I quit the auto detected download prompt. However it stopped and did not appear to install.Īgain I rebooted but wised up to this download. After which it prompted again and this time the download reached 100% 63.3 Meg from memory. I could not quit the program so decided to reboot. The download window started and on first attempt stopped after about 50% download. The OS detected that a new version of Java was required to be downloaded. After reboot, there was one small glitch.At one stage the screen went to sleep or reset with a blank screen. The important thing was that there were no errors or stalls.

The setup and install of the operating system was reported by the software to be around 30 minutes, but took less than 20.Around 1 minute and a MacBook Pro running an SSD hard disk. The initial install and reboot was fast.The 4 GB package came down in around 30 min on a Telstra Australia cable connection. I had imagined that the apple servers would be getting hammered all day, but that was not the case. The download was way faster than I expected.True geek like I know… but hay! You are the one reading this! So How Did it Go? Those days are “dust in the rear-view mirror”. Today gave me glimpses of the days long gone when Microsoft would release new and innovative software. It can’t go without noting that it has been a long time since I was excited about the prospect of a new release software download.

Good thing my work machine will be restored in another 3 hours from Time Machine.Today, like a kid in a candy store, I upgraded to the new Mac OSX Lion from the Mac App store. I am stuck with Exchange Server for work, so it is the interface for now or nothing.

The crashes (Office 2016) and “spinning beach ball of death” (Outlook 2011/2016) were known well before the update was made available, but nothing was done about compatibility. Both MS and Apple have been aware of this issue since the beta…long before the gold master was issued. I even purchased an Office for Mac Home and Business 2016 for home but won’t install until that is fixed as well (or return as keycard not activated).

Sorry, El Capitan, but 10.11 won’t be installed until an MS patch is issued for both 20. On my work Mac, I am resorting to a time machine restore of 10.5.5. None of these tricks worked on my personal mac. I rebuilt my identity, did the shift-key trick (which sort of worked once or twice), set it to “low resolution” etc. I tried everything on my macbook pro retina mid-2014. Normal service resumed! Hope it works for all of you! Restart Outlook and be patient – you are likely to see the the beachball BUT Outlook will sync with the server From Finder, move the com.microsoft.*.plist files from the folder created in Step 2 back to Library – PreferencesĦ. Exit the nag message that the product key should be 25 characters long, then Force Quit (Command – Option – Escape) the Outlook product key verification programĥ. Enter a partial product key and press enter/return. Open Outlook – you will be prompted to agree to license terms and asked for the product key. Select ALL the com.microsoft.*.plist files and drag/move to the folder from Step 2Ĥ. Create a new folder, say, “microsoft prefs”ģ. From Finder, navigate to Macintosh HD – Library – PreferencesĢ.
